This unit was all about how to manage the classroom and how to make the classroom an enjoyable and safe space for the students to learn. It started with points about how eye contact can be helpful and harmful if used at the wrong points during the lesson. Another interesting point was that pairing students is very important because it allows them to share ideas in a smaller group setting before sharing with the class. The teacher position aspect was really interesting, because it allows the student to know that the teacher is there to answer things while standing and also lets the students relax when you aren't needed and are sitting. Establishing rapport with the students is very important also, because it makes the students feel comfortable in the environment and it also helps with the level of respect that the students have for their teacher, which quells discipline problems.
