This unit was the most difficult to comprehend thus far, so I have a clear understanding of why pronunciation and all that it entails (intonation, stress, rhythm) is not being taught by many teachers. Currently I teach young beginner level learners, which includes teaching alphabets and alphabet sounds. With the help of this unit I was able to re-evaluate my procedure on teaching individual alphabetic sounds and that information will go into my future lessons. For example when teaching the ‘f’ sound, I can explain that they will need to use their teeth and bottom lip.
