I think of myself as a visual learner and though I was able to grasp the concepts and rules thought in previous units, when I had to watch both lessons plans they all made sense and from the videos it expanded my understanding of what to do in the classroom and what not to do. It stressed the importance of lesson planning; including the number of students that will be in the class (so that you can plan ahead for activities and ensure you have enough materials/worksheets etc). What I also observed was the two engage activities where in the first video the teacher asked questions that the students clearly didn't understand, then continued to ask more difficult and confusing questions. Most likely the students didn't understand because he was using language above their understanding level and that wasn't the right way to start a class lesson. If you start the students by confusing them then they will be demotivated to participate in the rest of the lesson.
