This unit focused on the different materials that are commonly used in the English language learning classroom. Ranging from the most commonly found materials such as blackboards and worksheets to new, innovative technologies that are constantly increasing in commonality within the classroom, this unit discussed each item, the uses of each item, and how one might use an item to enhance the learning taking place in the classroom. It also discussed many different resources for teachers to use online, since not all resources may be physically available in a classroom. As a teacher who is planning to teach abroad, knowing how to utilize all kinds of options, whether "rudimentary" or cutting edge, is imperative for me. I found myself noting the uses for common objects that I might not have thought of otherwise, and also brainstorming how I might bring technology into a classroom if the only technology available is that which I might bring with me. It opened up a very interesting conversation in my mind, and I was very enlightened by the practical thinking and ideas that came from this unit.
