As a graduate of an Early Childhood Education program, I have studied in-depth the need for professional and well thought-out classroom management. Without effective classroom management, effective learning cannot take place. This unit focused wholly on classroom management, from the smallest of nuances surrounding the teacher's behavior to the setup of the classroom to the ways in which students interact with one another: this unit covered every option there is to consider when looking into classroom management. I found the areas that focused on the teacher's body language to be especially helpful. I've studied in great detail classroom and grouping arrangements, as well as ways to prevent and address student conflict, but I hadn't spent much time looking into how my own body language as the teacher will affect the students' ability to connect and establish rapport with me. I found this information to be extremely interesting and relevant, and look forward to applying these concepts.
