There are a number of ways to assess a student's language level, Tutorials, Evaluation by the students, and Tests. Tutorials can be done with a whole group or with individuals and can be used to discuss the aims of the lesson as well as get to see how the student performed on said task. Evalution from the students helps teachers adjust lesson planning, and can develop a greater assessment of the students awareness of what is happening in the classroom and and how to better react to the enviroment. Tests are given throughout the course to help with the placement, and progression of the student and their academic needs. As well as, shows if the material in the course is being learned. Types of test are Placement, Progress, Diagnostic, and practice tests.
