After studying this unit, I have realized that the learners' emotion and reaction during class is actually more important and crucial than the teaching itself. Without a good relationship between the teacher and the learner, the class will not be successful as both parties will not enjoy themselves and the learner may not be able to remember anything learned in class.
Besides knowing better about the teacher-learner relationship, I have also learnt the many differences between adult learners and young learners. The teacher certainly has to act and teach very differently in front of different age groups of learner. I am also enlightened by the information regarding cultural differences. It is important to take the learner's cultural background into account while giving English lessons in a foreign country. The teacher must be very sensitive and careful in order not to offend anyone or any culture.
All in all, this until certainly enlightens me by providing so much information on the relationship between teachers and learners, as well as on the differences between different learners.
