Unit 11 taught me the importance of Receptive skills. Reading and Listening are divided into two wide range categories which are "For a Purpose" and "For Entertainment". Reading and Listening to help achieve a specific aim or goal. Then their is Reading and Listening for entertainment and fueling our minds with curiosity or subjects we are interested in. Receptive skills are just as important than Productive skills speaking and writing. They should all be incorparated equally and taught throughout the lesson. Reading and Listening is important because it uses our minds and imagination to recognize and understand the word but also grasp their overall meaning and applying them to our pre-existing knowledge.
