This introduction into characterising the different kind of students you have in your class, will enhance how you are as a teacher in terms of pace, strategy, encouragement, and evaluation. As much as possible to be able to identify the students who may need that extra push to be able to cope with the rest of the students will help the class' success. Having been a learner in Asia, and now living in Europe, I can tell the difference between the teacher-student relationship in the classroom. Indeed asians are taught only to speak when addressed and teachers are solely in control. There are occasions wherein the teacher would task group works but just act as a facilitator and would rarely be a participator. Perhaps I can use this experience to my advantage now knowing these factors do have a big impact on students-the do's and don'ts.
