During this task I've learned a great deal about lesson planning and the importance to a beginner when starting to teach. Lesson plans are important not only for organization, but to keep a record of what has already been taught to the students as to not repeat anything unnecessarily. Lesson plans are also useful in the event you as a teacher are ill and another has to fill in.
I've also learned the importance of being flexible in terms of timing. If students are enjoying a particular part of a lesson, it could be wise to continue longer than allotted in the lesson plan. So long as this is noted, and the remainder of the plan is completed in a following lesson.
In addition, I've learned about class organization before starting the lesson and interacting with the students as they enter the classroom as to break the ice and create a positive learning environment.
