This unit helped me better understand the importance of engaging the students prior to the study and introduction of new language, as well as the importance of maximizing the students' usage of language. It actually showed me the theoretical basis of the immersive Korean course I took a few years ago, which I realize now was taught using ESA methodology. The teachers were very successful in teaching us, so I have more confidence in the methodology being taught to me now.
