This unit gave an overview of the present tenses in English, namely the present simple, present perfect, present continuous and the present perfect continuous. The present simple is used primarily for habits, routines and facts. Present perfect is used when referring to past completed experiences, especially when relating to the present. Present continuous usually refers to actions currently being undertaken, and present perfect continuous refers to actions that start in the past and are continuing into the present. This tense also gives a time frame.
