I have been in many classrooms where the only resource is the textbook. This can become quite boring and also not very engaging. Students love to be able to relate what they are learning to how and where they are living. I definitely see the impact authentic material can have on the process of learning a new language. These materials are invaluable to the development and growth of each student. I also understand the benefit of created material. both, as I understood the unit, are beneficial and important in the process of learning and digesting a new language. The one important thing I picked up from this unit was to never discount creativity in the classroom and do not let the class become predictable or boring.
