There are many parts of speech. One sentence is made up of at least a noun, verb and object. Nouns are people, places, things and states of being. There are five types of nouns, common, proper, compound, abstract and collective. Nouns often come in plural form when there is more than one, you can usually just add a "s" to the end of the noun to make more than one. There are almost always some exceptions to all the rules of speech. Nouns can also be countable and uncountable. Adjectives are words used to describe nouns. There are articles of speech such as "the" which is used as a definite article and "a , "an" are used as an indefinite articles. Verbs are also needed in sentences. A verb is an action word, verbs can be transitive or intransitive. Adverbs are used to describe or "add" to the verb. Pronouns are words used instead of a noun such as, I, his, who, she. All theses parts and a few more make up the parts of speech.
