In this unit I have learnt that the manner in which the teacher approach the class is very important. The teachers attitude and positivity is significant when engaging the students in the lesson. I have watched two videos for two different lessons approach. On the first video video the teacher didn't consider the rapport between himself and the students, he just started a lesson without any engaging phase. The teacher didn't introduce the lesson in an engaging way and the students were very confused. The tried to participate but everything was difficult and confusing. When the students were given the activity it was difficult for them to know exactly what to do. the teacher didn't consider if the students understood the lesson or not. He let them play the game which he failed to control and which confused him as well. He didn't prepare enough teaching aids not all students was able to use the teaching media that was provided. In the second lesson the teach built a good rapport between himself and the students, He introduced himself to the students and asked the students to introduced themselves to him. The teacher followed a very good approach when introducing the lesson. He started with engage phase whereby students were given the chance to name things about the lesson. He then elicited the information of the lesson. The students given the opportunity to participate in the lesson, and they participated effectively because the lesson was introduced correctly. At an activate phase students participated effectively knowing exactly what to do. I recommend the second lesson because it was successful and effective.
