I never thought that the transitive and intransitive phrasal verbs could be so confusing. I must have fallen asleep during this part of my own class lessons when attending grade school. I can imagine this particular part of the English language causing problems with learners of the language. They are fun and interesting, but they require diligence and practice. I can see how practice and a lot of boomerang type lesson plans could be beneficial. The modal verbs will be fun to teach. They often a variety of ways of looking at similar sentences while pointing out the unique meaning each brings to the table. Here I can see students having a lot of fun and enjoying the learning process in particular as it relates to the lived reality.
