In unit 15, testing and evaluation were discussed. The majority of this lesson focused on tests as the prime method of student assessment. Different forms of testing such as placement, progress, and diagnostic tests are used for different purposes throughout the school year to understand incoming students' language level, monitor the progress of the class, and prepare students for external exams. While I understand the importance of testing as an easy and relatively equal method of student assessment, I would have prefered to see a larger amount of focus given to different methods of evaluation instead of tests being the sole focus.
