There are 3 different forms of the present tense, positive, negative and question. There are 4 different aspects, simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. When we put it together there are 12 different forms of the present tense. Present simple is used for facts, routines, directions, and commentaries happening now. Present continuous is used for thing happening right now such as what someone is doing, frequent actions, and to talk about developing actions. Present Perfect is used when we talk about finished actions, thinking about completed actions, and when we talk about something that happened in the pas that is still true today. Present perfect continuous is used to say how long something will take that is still happening, and to describe recently finished actions that have a present consequence.
