This unit contained an overview of how to teach vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions, with a focus on how to the select vocabulary to be taught, and on techniques for each of the ESA stages. This unit had more detail than previous units, and included a revision of ESA class structures and specific examples of how lessons can be taught. I found interesting that there was also specific information about what aspects of vocabulary are relevant for learners, such as spelling, pronunciation, and meaning. From this I understood that material should be selected appropriately according to each learner's level and needs.
