Unit 15 included information about the types of exams that students undergo throughout the entire life cycle of their language learning course, from level assessment to lesson planning to practice tests, as well as external assessments to prove their English language ability. Since I have never worked at a school that had a consistent, long-term curriculum, I had never taken notice of the different types of tests that students take throughout a set period of time. It is interesting to study and compare how different tests are structured for their according purpose as detailed in the unit. For example, questions about a learner's motivation would not be included in a practice test, but are a good idea to include in a placement test; likewise, questions to check a learner's understanding of the present tense would not be included in a progress test for an advanced learner.
