In this unit I have learnt that the system and structure of the past tense is not too different from the present tense, the difference is that the past tense is related to the past or to what happened. This unit has been very helpful on clarifying that that the past tense has regular and irregular verbs.Past simple is used for actions completed at a definite time in the past. It is used for past actions when the time is given, when the time is asked about, when action clearly took place at a definite time even if the time is not mentioned. I have also learnt about past continuous that it used without time expression, it can indicate gradual development that took place in the past. This unit has clarified that past continuous can express an action which began before that time and may be continued after it. I have also learnt about Past perfect continuous that it is about longer actions or situations in the past that had been going on continuously up to the past moment
