In this unit we watched 2 videos of demonstration lesson. The first video was an example of a video in which the teacher behavior and bad organization skills clearly reflect on the effect fullness of the lesson. The teacher seemed rude and disrespectful, which seemed to reflect on the students. He didn’t succeed in explaining the lessons’ focus point and therefore students were confused. The second lesson was much better, a good example how the ESA’s ‘straight arrow’ structure works in real life. How after a quick ice-breaker by letting all students speak for a moment, he jumped in to the engage stage with some fun way to have students speak and review something related to today’s focus point. This cause for a smooth and enjoyable study stage, after handing out the worksheet, he made sure to monitor properly, gave student enough time to finish and made sure everybody had stopped before discussing the worksheet in class. The activate stage the teacher had found a related exercise in a bingo game form. The students had lots of time to communicate the new language freely. After a brief conclusion he thanked everyone for coming and told them good-bye.
