The first unit is all about the roles and responsibilities of both teachers and students in the classroom. It also discusses various factors that affect language learning and presents a general idea of what to expect in English learning programs. I think that this unit is the perfect starting point for the course as it sets one's journey into becoming a good teacher -- one that is not just knowledgeable of the subject matter, but also well informed of the students' learning needs.
This unit has made me realise that being an English teacher is indeed a humongous task. It has become very clear to me that every role a teacher needs to fulfil is crucial to students' learning success.
