The past tense is used to tell what happened in the past. There are four different forms for the past tense. Past simple is when you simply use the "ed" added to the end of a verb unless it is a irregular verb. We can use the past simple when time is given, time is asked or when time is stated. There is also the past continuous, this is used to talk about past actions that were interrupted, verbs that began before and are continued after and also when we are describing past actions. Then next form is the past perfect, we use this form when we talk about the past of the past. Past perfect continuous is used to talk about actions that had been going on up until the thought.
