I found this video comparison of the two different lessons useful to demonstrate the difference in how the teacher interacted with the studentsand their response.The first lesson emphasised all the main flaws that led to confusion and lack of engagement from the students.It highlighted that a teacher needs to be fully focussed on the students and how to get across the teaching point effectively.In the first lesson the teacher did not take time for pupil introductions but launched straight into a study type phase without clear simple demonstrations and examples so that everyone was confused.The teacher had been correcting mistakes using students names in front of the whole class so the class members were fearful of being made out as dunces.It is by encouraging everyone to have a go without recrimination that gets partipation,practise and then success.
