This has been the most challenging unit so far.
More than any other unit, I understand how to use this, but not how to explain it well. In fact, I find myself lost in the rules of each section and confusing different types of present tenses. I need to work on this and must assure I know when to use each type of present tense.
The present and present continuous are relatively straightforward and easy to explain. The constructions are simpler and their use is easier to comprehend. I believe the second two will be harder for students. Not only do they explain specific temporal ideas, but they use past participles. Thus the students must not only recognise and understand their form and use but also engage with their knowledge of past participles. I look forward to working on this and improving my ability to lead students through this lingual quagmire.
I will need to keep an eye on how I use this language and why I use it at certain times if I am to improve.
