I think that teaching students to learn to speak and write in English could potentially be much more difficult than teaching them to read and listen. The spelling and pronunciation of many our words tend to not be very intuitive and could easily present problems for students. Specifically, I could see things such as silent letters or the nuances of our punctuation (such as how to correctly use quotation marks) to be fairly challenging.
The most useful aspects of these past few units, in my opinion, have been the sets of questions that are about the different components of a lesson. Questions 11-15 of this unit are an example. These have done an excellent job of getting me to think about what would be the correct way to configure a lesson about a given topic. It is especially helpful when it is not exactly obvious, such as the correct way to sequence a study phase with multiple parts.
