This unit was one of the easier units to digest. Although, strangely, the test was one of the most difficult because of its impressive use of double negatives.
My main takeaway from this unit is that I will have to change how I maintain discipline and how I control a room based on the rooms makeup and its layout. I will come to my classrooms early to write class materials on the board before starting. I will, of course, have to cover those notes until they are needed. I will remember the different formations (rows, horseshoe, separate tables etc.) for my lessons and use them to dovetail the structure of my lesson.
Once I am in a classroom I will need to practice making good use of eye contact and my body language. This will be crucial for crowd control and for building rapport.
