this unit introduces different methods of learning a language and how approaches have altered over time with an increasing focus on student talk/participation time.we are informed about the importance of getting students interested with an engaging non threatening activity;for example using elicitation techniques of questioning before proceeding to the study stage where language points,vocabulary acquisition etcetera are taught and practised.the activation stage is where the students are involved in opportunities for lots of language practise through roleplay,communication games in groups and story telling.I have learnt that by being flexible,using a variety of styles and activities suited to the student target group enhances success.It is better to allow for fluency,encouraging all to participate.When evaluating students if some errors regularly impede learning they need to be addressed in a non threatening way during a study phase.
