I learned that the choice of course material should be strategic, practical, and flexible. Teachers as the subject matter experts must be able to choose which materials will best serve the objectives of the course and the needs of the students. There course materials must be relevant, interesting and suitable to the students. But teachers must not rely heavily on these course materials as it is still important for teachers to be flexible, creative and resourceful because course materials, after all, are merely supplements to the actual teaching.
