I think to be good teacher you need to patient with students and understand that some of your class objectives may not be solved by the end of the class. You need to flexible with your lessons plans and teaching style. As long as your students are talking in English as much as possible then you're doing a good job. Knowing the type of English learner you are teaching is important so you can tailor your class to their needs. I think analysis is good to do often to see how students are progressing in English.
