I think that this unit is very helpful because as a native speaker I didn't learn English by studying how different parts of speech work. In fact, I never really studied gerunds ever, I just used them because. I also never had to memorize the irregular verbs, I just sort of know from hearing them. However, understanding how to explain these concepts will be important for helping others master this language.
