This unit looked at evaluating and testing a student’s language level. This unit heavily focused on varying tests, but this unit also briefly looked at tutorials as well as self-student evaluations. The different tests looked at were placement, progress, diagnostic, and practice tests. The main focus was looking at when these tests should be taken and the advantages of having these tests taken. Lastly, this unit looked at general external examinations that foreigners take to certify their English proficiency and competency. I only knew about placement tests to measure a student’s language level, but I did not know there were diagnostic tests as well. I will try to incorporate diagnostic tests in my future classroom as it would help me make a timeline and future lessons plans.
