In this unit i have learnt that it is important to be lively, patient and entertaining so that students are free to communicate and interact with a teacher so that they do not feel any form of intimidation or embarrassment. It is also important to know when to switch between roles as a teacher so that you are able to involve and engage the students more effectively . The environment where a teacher teaches is also a determining factor on how best he/she should deliver their services, eg the approach when teaching adults should differ from the approach when teaching very young learners and teenagers alike . A good teacher should be able to assess the levels of the students abilities in the English language both spoken and written.it should be clear which level each student is in so that a teacher is able to assist and give individual attention and encouragement were it is necessary.
