This unit is about the essential components we need to consider and cover when teaching new language to our students, so that we can ensure students get exposed to the target language, they understand it, learn how to use it correctly, practice and put it in context and are able to produce it. I learnt great tips on the importance, strategies and examples of lessons structures focused on vocabulary, grammar structures and functions.
I think the material of this unit very rich and specific, it has given me a clearer focus and understanding of the ESA method. Since I was able to reinforce and learn more about what I studied in the previous unit about this method, I could refresh about the three ESA lesson types – straight arrow, boomerang and patchwork- and learn about the most suitable activities we can include in every stage, according to the learning objective. I think now I understand and know better all the aspects I’ll have to consider and I’ll be able to choose better activities when planning lessons with this method.
