Teaching the tenses will be one of the most difficult lessons for students to master. Remembering each tense will require lesson plans to include repetition of the rules with rhymes for easier memorization. Also, practicing the different tenses in conversation will require flashcards to model particular uses. After completing this unit, I remember the different tenses with the model of a football game: (1) present simple are the rules of the game; (2) present continuous are the plays; (3) present perfect is a quarter in the game; (4) present perfect continuous are the coaches during a game.
