Unit five discussed managing classes and the different possibilities and situations you may have to face in a classroom. It started off with explaining the need for appropriate use of eye contact, gestures and the teachers voice in order to keep the students interested and engaged in the classroom. It discussed the various levels of importance and ways of grouping students depending on the type of work being completed such as whole class groups, pair work, group work or individual work. It also gave suggestions on class arrangement as well as teacher positioning in the classroom from standing, seated, writing on the board and moving amongst students while they complete their work. Lastly, unit 5 went over the different ways to give instruction and build rapport with the students and also ways in which to maintain discipline iwthin the classrrom.
