Teaching students a new language has many different facets. Reading and listening as we learned in Unit 11 is important to understand the language but equally important is speaking and writing the language. Mastering these four as a student makes for a well rounded learner. As a teacher, we must understand the importance of all of them. Speaking is putting into action what the reading and the listening has taught the student. Accuracy is important for the meaning of the words but fluency is important for being able to carry on a conversation. Helping the students feel comfortable to speak in class is important as creating that environment has been a these through this course. Writing is important and the harder of the two skills to master for some. As an involved teacher, learning what you can about your students will only help bridge the gap of the learning and help the students overcome whatever skill they need to master in order to speak the language they are learning.
