This lesson gives a general outline of the relationship between teachers and learners, along with definitions of each classification. Learners are broken down into many further classifications, such as adults vs young learners, age ranges, and English language level ranges. It also mentioned ways to build lessons and classroom behaviors catered towards these various learner levels and types, while establishing that a deep understanding of the classes' level is vital towards this goal.
I learned a variety of previously unknown vocabulary used to classify learners and teachers. While I've been teaching for three years in an ESL environment and could "feel" these differences, it was wonderful to see them concretely in text and analyzed. It was also stimulating to see the different classes of learners and apply it to the students who I've taught throughout my employment.
