Besides course books, there are many teaching aids that can be used in the classroom to increase the effectiveness of and interest in lessons. The main one is the board. It is important for teachers to learn good boardwork with clean and organized writing. Visual aids are also useful in bringing real life into the lessons to create motivation and better comprehension. Worksheets and cards are good for implementing activities. Dictionaries are extremely useful for students.
There are also a number of helpful electronic aids. CDs and DVDs are used for listening comprehension and increasing interest. And of course computers can be used for almost any purpose. When using electronic aids, the teacher needs to be prepared beforehand for any technical trouble.
