In my opinion, this unit or topic is vital and comprises much of what the course will deal with: “teaching methods”. I feel this topic could be one of the most substantial until now because it explains how the ESA methodology has been made out of other methods throughout history, and illustrates the different lesson structures during the teaching. It is interesting how the current ESA methodology has taken some principles or characteristics from other methods like for example: suggestopedia, communicative approach, CLL, among the others already listed, to craft an effective pathway to guide the learning process in an effective and enjoyable way which fosters the interest for the language among the students. It is also important to mention the kinds of lesson planning: Straight arrow lesson suitable for lower levels, Boomerang lesson mostly for pre -Intermediate students, and Patchwork type of lesson for more advanced learners. This classification obeys merely to avoid the class to become predictable and therefore boring according to the participants’ level.
