Unit 3 presented a comprehensive overview of EFL methodology, mistakes and feedback. It was useful to learn about the wide range of teaching methodologies that include grammar-translation, audio - lingualism, presentation, practice, production, task - based learning, communicate language teaching, community language learning, the silent way and suggestopeadia approaches of teaching. After reading about the various teaching methodologies, I realized there are positive and negative points in each approach A good teacher should be flexible enough to use the best teaching practices depending on the needs of the students. The main goal is to have students exposed to language as much as possible. Students do need input from teachers. We should try to relax students so they are encouraged and confident to explore and discover language on their own. I also engaged about learning about specific games and activities that can be implemented depending on whether the stage of the lesson in the Engage, Study and Activate method that we are learning about in this course.
