This unit covered three tenses: present simple tense, present perfect tense, present continuous (progressive) tense, and present perfect continuous tense. Present simple is the most basic tense and is typically used when talking about habits, facts, routines, etc. Present continuous is the tense that is used when describing ongoing actions and developing actions. Present perfect is used to talk about general experiences in the past and past actions that have current results. Present perfect continuous talks about an action that began in the past and is continuing on now.
Regarding verb tenses, teachers should predict common errors and be prepared to explain with example sentences. Various activities to use in the activate stage include describing routines or habits, taking surveys, change the room, information-gap, and questionnaires.
