This unit made me think a bit more about something I have never really focused on. I always believed that course books were forced on us more than other tools, that's why the teacher goes off of the book. However, this unit enlightened my view of course materials and tools. I do like knowing the difference between created and authentic materials. I know authentic materials are a bit difficult when you first start out for some depending on the materials. You wouldn't be having a kid read a newspaper about economics but instead have them read a story book with pictures. I know when I first began studying, reading kids stories was embarrassing but they are familiar when you begin learning a new language.
