This unit covers the importance of the two Receptive Skills - reading and listening, and how to teach them both effectively. Underlining the fact that both are equally important along with Productive Skills, unit eleven continues on to highlight Receptive Skills are also a matter for the mind, not just for eyes and ears. Overall, unit eleven covers the basic keys to instilling effective Receptive Skills in a classroom and how to teach receptive skills to ESL students. I feel this unit was particularly interesting through its addition of sample material that I could use in my own classroom and especially the Tom Cruise example.
