This unit had several new and useful tips for classroom managaement, as well as general guidelines to follow. I specifically learned not to call out a student’s name before asking a question, because then only that student will pay attention as opposed to keeping the whole class on their toes. I learned about the benefits of a horseshoe setup, which I have personally experienced as a foreign language student and greatly enjoyed. I also learned not to elicit responses student by student in a row, because it becomes predictable. I will carry these and other tips into my classroom.
