Unit 13 outlines all of the different aspects that go into teaching pronunciation. Intonation is the difference in the volume and pitch in sentences. Stress is where the emphasis is placed in words and sentences. The phonemic alphabet can be a useful tool in teaching students how to correctly pronounce words in English. The most important thing that I took away from this unit is the section about the phonemic alphabet. Intonation and stress are two areas that I have become comfortable with through teaching. Articulation can be the most difficult part when teaching words. Using this alphabet will be a great tool to use in the classroom.
