This unit presented the grammatical concept of verb tenses (temporal changes). It clarified that the three primary tenses (past, present, and future) are further subdivided into four additional tenses (simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous). It then provided examples and explanations of when and why these tenses are used. I have previously studied several foreign languages, however almost all of my theoretical knowledge of English grammar is based upon this foreign language grammar framework. Therefore, I found this unit to be particularly useful in providing the correct terminology and rules necessary for me to concisely teach these grammatical concepts.
