This unit covers the appropriate use of different types of materials in the classroom. In particular, the unit covers the advantages and disadvantages of using course books as well as of using authentic materials such as real world newspaper articles, advertisements and excerpts from literature. The unit also provides some sample materials to use in classes, such as role-play scenarios, word search puzzles and crossword puzzles.
