This unit really gave a very detailed overview of the functions of different components of a sentences. While I was pretty (academically speaking) familiar with nouns, verbs, adverbs, articles, prepositions, etc., I never before thought of nouns as countable or uncountable. The term, "0" article is new to me as well. And speaking of articles, I always knew about the rule of when to use "a" or "an" based on a following vowel or consonant sound, but it was good to refresh on how those two are "indefinite" whereas "the" is definite.
Having learned Japanese, I am familiar with the concept of conjugating verbs which is generally very simple and there are really two irregular verbs I am aware of, but with English there are far more exceptions to rules than I realized. Honestly, this unit makes me want to talk about proper English with my father, who is a professional writer.
